Based out of the UK, BSA has been in business for nearly 150 years. They are England's oldest and most well known gun maker and small arms manufacturer. They own a number of shooting related businesses including ammunition, shooting supplies, and rifle scopes. The rifle scope side of their business was formed in 1996 and is called BSA Optics.

The BSA Optics department has developed several rifle scope models for most any need and budget. BSA offers a number of various rifle scope models, including styles for:

* Air rifles
* Rimfires
* Centerfire
* Tactical
* BDC models (Sweet series)

While BSA is somewhat better recognized as "budget brand", they have made outstanding improvements in both quality and product offerings in the last 5 years. They are best known for their BDC (Bullet Drop Compensation) models, which offer built-in bullet drop compensation with specific rifle calibers and bullet weights. These models are somewhat unique to the industry as they allow the hunter to pick a range and the scope automatically adjusts for the drop in bullet as it travels that distance.

Will BSA be the best choice for every hunter or shooter? No, it won't. But, for the budget conscious individuals who want fairly good performance for under $150 then the BSA is certainly a possibility. One of my favorite squirrel rifles is topped with a BSA and I wouldn't trade that rifle/scope combo for anything in the world.

With all the various rifle scope models on the market today, selecting a rifle scope can be tough. If you are shopping for a nice rifle scope with good optics and features under $150.00, then you might want to give some thought to a BSA Rifle Scope.
